BBC Strictly viewers in disbelief over Kym Marsh's number of grandchildren

Strictly Come Dancing kicked off with a bang on Friday night as the class of 2022 got introduced to their dancing professionals for the first time. The launch show saw the line-up introduced to the ballroom and viewers at home ahead of the live shows, which kicks off on Saturday, September 24. You can follow our live blog confirming the new pairings here.

Former Hear'Say star and Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, 46, was paired with Graziano Di Prima, but before the big reveal, presenter Tess Daly congratulated Kym on the new adorable addition to her family and Strictly fans could not believe what they were hearing.

Tess said: "Unbelievably, you have just become a grandma for the third time, I mean... Congratulations." Kym thanked the host before Tess added: "I've never seen a more glamorous grandma in my entire life."

"And you said you wanted to be doing this for the grans," Tess said. "I am doing it for the grannies, definitely," Kym responded.

"Has a granny ever won before?" Kym then asked. "That's a very good question," Tess replied, before answering: "No, you could be the first."

"I could be the first," Kym echoed. "Here we go."

Viewers watching at home were in disbelief as one wrote: "How does Kym Marsh have three grandkids?! While another added: "My 85-year-old grandma, watching KYM MARSH represent her." Another said: "Do me a favour? Kym marsh is a grandma! I’m not having it!"

This tweet with added gif summed up what many were thinking, though, pure and simple.

Kym, who recently married Scott Ratcliff in a lavish ceremony, was paired with Graziano on the show. Both were ecstatic about the pairing as Kym said: "My stomach was churning, but I was delighted!" For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
