BBC Strictly's Kym Marsh pokes fun at herself as she 'morphs' into TV icon

Kym Marsh looked a far cry from her role as Coronation Street landlady Michelle Connor during a sparkling routine on Strictly Come Dancing. In a performance dubbed the best of the 2022 series so far, Kym did the splits as she performed an energetic Charleston with her dance partner Graziano Di Prima.

Kym and Graziano were overjoyed as they scored 33 points out of a possible 40 on the BBC dance contest. The judges heaped praise on their performance with Anton Du Beke telling Kym it was "not only your best dance, it was the best dance of the series yet."

As Kym, 46, won over judges and viewers, cheered on by her proud daughter Emilie Cunliffe, fans flocked to Twitter to say she reminded them of the late TV presenter and singing icon Cilla Black as she donned a red bobbed wig. @amyvangar tweeted: "Love to see that Ar Cilla's been resurrected on #Strictly tonight."

As Kym made her way up the stairs to chat to host Claudia Winkleman she also poked fun at the resemblance. "I loved i even though I look like Cilla Black," she said. Actress, presenter and singer Kym then did a Cilla impression exclaiming "Surprise! Surprise!"
