BBC Strictly's Johannes Radebe supported by co-stars and Gemma Atkinson over 'dream come true' news

Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe has been flooded with support from the likes of Gemma Atkinson as he shared 'dream come to true' news with his fans and followers. Viewers of the BBC One dance contest best know the dancer for being one of the professionals on the show.

But away from the dancefloor, Johannes has been putting pen to paper and is set to release his very first book. "I’m so excited to announce that my memoir Jojo: Finally Home is coming out in September," he revealed on Instagram alongside a video of himself in which he also shares the exciting announcement.

"This really is a dream come true for me," he went on to share. "Not only have I found myself in places I never thought possible through my dancing but now I am sharing my story with the world in book form. That journey has sometimes been hard but it has lead me to my truth, my tribe and now I can say I'm finally home."

Johannes added: "I hope this book spreads joy and bring a message of hope to anyone who reads it. May it leave you with many experiences and feeling exhilarated at the end. Let it activate the spirit of empathy, love and compassion towards one another."

In the video, which shows Johannes doing a photoshoot for the cover of his memoir, the South African-born performer is heard saying: "I am thrilled to finally share my story because I think a lot of people don't actually know about my life story. People just see one as a dancer on national television and think that's where it ends.

"But I have to say, it's much more layered than that." He went on to share about his "incredible" upbringing in South Africa and said: "Little JoJo was really given wings to fly." Former Strictly winner Ore Oduba was among the first to reply, writing: "I’ll have ten copies pls jojo." Another Strictly winner Stacey Dooley also said: "Hurrrrrrahhhhh!"

Oti Mabuse, a judge on the BBC One show, commented: "Let’s go baby." While fellow professional dancer Dianne Buswell replied: "Sooooo proud of you," and Vito Coppola, who made it to the final of the show in his first year last year, posted: "YES JOJOOOOO BRAVOOOOO."

Gemma Atkinson also shared the post to her own Instagram story and alongside a string of clapping emojis typed: "Congratulations @johannesradebe." And fans were also excited to get their hands on a copy. @cclau2018 said: "This is going to be a must read. I hope you can maybe do some book signings."
