Jayde Adams is the fourth celebrity to be voted off the 2022 series off Strictly Come Dancing following the performance on Saturday, October 22 that saw the cast celebrating 100 years of the BBC. The Sunday night results show was broadcast just hours after Jayde hit back at trolls on her Instagram account.
Jayde, who was partnered with professional dancer Karen Hauer, did not impress with her Charleston to Victoria Wood's The Ballard of Barry and Freda (Let's Do It). Scoring 28/40 on Saturday, she was fourth from bottom of the leaderboard. Following the public vote, she faced singer Molly Rainford in the dance off and the judges voted unanimously to save Molly.
Jayde's exit from the show comes just hours after she sent a strong message to trolls on her Instagram. Comparing herself in her latest Strictly outfit to Uncle Fester from The Addams Family, she said: "Internet: you'll never be funnier about the way I look than me. So you can all stop being little sociopaths now and stop tiring me with your poorly written and terribly hack abuse (sic)."
Many celebrities posted their support including comedian and Loose Women presenter Judi Love and fellow Strictly star Ellie Simmons. Judi said: "You was incredible last night and looked great!! followed by a red love heart emoji and Ellie said: "Love you Jayde." followed by a red love heart emoji.
Jayde also posted again on her Instagram: "In this life y'all gotta learn to be confident enough to have your own opinions and not need the approval of others to maintain it" and joked she'd be a "millionaire" if she sold T-shirts with "advice I give" on them.
Talking to host Tess Daly after being knocked out of the show, an emotional Jayde said Strictly Come Dancing was the "best thing" she has ever taken part in. She said: “This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with you [Karen] and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work."
Jayde also thanked Karen, calling it an "honour" to work with her. She said: "You are one of the most gifted people I have ever worked with Karen. And everyone on this show, said it to me, when I had you, they said ‘you’ve got the best one’ sorry everyone, and I did and you are fantastic and this has been such an honour. Not only have I got to be on Strictly Come Dancing but I got to have Karen Hauer, you are amazing, thank you for everything!"
Viewers were disappointed to see Jayde go. One said: "I'm really sad because Jayde was a massive super fan of the show. She really did have the brightest personality and is a true inspiration. Well done Jayde you're amazing" followed by three red hearts.
Another added: "Jayde and Karen should not be out. Neither couple deserved to be in the dance off." and: "Ah @jaydeadams you will be missed terribly from #StrictlyComeDancing - on a personal level you bought me joy watching you dance, your partnership with Karen and proving anyone can kill it on the dance floor. #Strictly"
