Strictly Come Dancing viewers have called for Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts to appear on the next series. The singer, 37, danced the waltz on the 2022 Christmas Special alongside partner Giovanni Pernice.
While the trophy was won by Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell and Kai Widdrington, viewers were quick to praise Nicola and Giovanni. After their performance on the dancefloor, which scored an impressive 39 from the judges, one person wrote on social media: "She was FABulous.. Main show next year ..?"
Turns out that person wasn't alone and a second said: "@bbcstrictly get Nicola Roberts on the main show next year! #strictly," requesting that Nicola appear on the main series, which was won by Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal earlier this month.
Manchester Evening News reports how a third person added: "Nicola Roberts is too good not to be in the proper series #Strictly". The singer was joined on the special by Gavin and Stacey actor Larry Lamb and Nadiya Bychkova; soap actress Alexandra Mardell and Kai Widdrington, DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams and Luba Mushtuk; podcaster Rosie Ramsey and Neil Jones; and CBeebies presenter George Webster and Amy Dowden.
Strictly wouldn't be the first reality TV show that Nicola has taken part in, as she won the first series of The Masked Singer UK in 2020 under the guise of Queen Bee.
She found fame as one of the five members of British pop group Girls Aloud. The band formed 20 years ago and split in 2013.
