BBC Strictly Come Dancing star splits from her fiancé

Strictly Come Dancing star Kara Tointon has split from her fiancé, Marius Jensen. The couple have been together for five years and share two children.

A source said: “Kara and Marius quietly separated around 10 months ago. There was no wrong-doing on either side, and they both still care about each other. But they came to the decision that there was no future for them as a couple. They remain friends, and are both very committed to co-parenting their two children,” the source added.

The former couple, who met in 2017, became parents for the first time in 2018 when their eldest son, Frey, was born. At the beginning of 2021, Kara and Marius welcomed a second son Helly. When sharing her son’s name with Hello! Magazine, Kara said: “He is an incredibly cool little man. He is very Zen, he has a calming effect. He is so chilled and wonderful."

Speaking about the name, she added: "We found it had both Indian history and Scandinavian links." Marius explained: "The first Helly we found was an old Norwegian sea captain, from a place in Norway called Moss, a tiny little town where my grandmother is from. We looked him up and he was a big, bearded guy like myself and it sort of fell into place."

Mr Selfridge actress Kara shot to fame on EastEnders and previously dated Joe Swash, who is now married to Stacey Solomon. You can read about their recent nuptials here. Following her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, Kara entered into a relationship with her professional dance partner Artem Chigvintsev, with whom she won the series. The pair ended up splitting four years later and in 2017, Kara entered into a relationship with chiropractor Marius.
