Another Saturday night in the ballroom is over and all eyes are on the latest results and once again, the latest Strictly Come Dancing spoiler has arrived. While we won't reveal the results in this story, Strictly fans have complained they are 'annoyed' over the latest shock dance-off.
Last weekend, Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima won the dance-off against Bros singer Matt Goss and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova despite the former Corrie star and the Italian dancer producing a solid score. The pair were back in the ballroom on Saturday night (October 22) as the BBC One dance contest celebrated the BBC’s centenary.
As the broadcaster marked 100 years on October 18, the dance competition honoured the occasion with routines to classic BBC theme songs and references to popular shows. For the first performance of the night, TV presenter Helen Skelton went back to her Blue Peter days as she danced the Charleston to Mike Oldfield’s theme tune for the children’s show with Groka Marquez.
They topped the leaderboard as they secured a score of 35, with judge Anton Du Beke describing it as Skelton’s “best dance yet”, and Craig Revel Horwood agreeing that it was “confident” and “energising”. Wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin also secured the top score after he paid homage to his BBC nature programming background as he danced the quickstep to On Top Of The World by Imagine Dragons, with Jowita Przystal, with fake polar bears in the background.
Meanwhile, singer and presenter Fleur East and Vito Coppola came joint third with a score of 32 points for their performance to Waterloo by Abba, which won the Swedish pop group the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 in Brighton, and actor Will Mellor and Nancy Xu channelled the drama of Line Of Duty in their Viennese waltz as they performed to the show’s end credit theme to secure their 32 points.
Kiss FM DJ Tyler West and Dianne Buswell also danced the tango to the Doctor Who theme tune, Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds and Nikita Kuzmin brought the tension of The Apprentice’s boardroom as they performed a paso doble to the show’s theme tune and comedian Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer took on the Charleston to comic song The Ballad Of Barry And Freda (Let’s Do It), which was written and performed by fellow comedian Victoria Wood during her BBC show.
Grange Hill, Come Dancing, EastEnders, and Grandstand were all also honoured during the unusual Strictly show which left viewers completely divided. However, the Strictly 'mole' has struck again, hours before the results of this week's competition air on BBC One on Sunday night (October 23).
The Strictly spoiler is usually leaked on a Saturday night following the filming of the results show straight after the live show ends. This week's spoiler leaked around 11pm and on person tweeted: "Just left #strictly with my mum… such an amazing show and what a horrible result.. please stop voting for the bad acts guys.," adding "entire audience are furious."
Another reacted: "This is genuinely quite shocking, didn’t expect that," while a third added: "I'm shocked and annoyed about both couples in the bottom."
It comes after the leaker faced criticism from the show's judges, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood. During an appearance on Loose Women earlier this week, former pro dancer Anton begged them to 'stop' while Craig said they were "ruining" the Sunday results show.
But Strictly spoiler admin Dave Thorp has no intentions of stopping his weekly publishing of the results. Talking to MailOnline, he said: "I'm just providing a service and am not spoiling anyone's enjoyment. I don't put the results for everyone to see and they have to search for my site to find out the results. There is an appetite from people who want to know the results before Sunday."
