BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Helen Skelton's one-word question to Gorka Marquez uncovered amid 'last day'

Strictly Come Dancing star Helen Skelton's one-word question to Gorka Marquez when they finished their latest routines in a bid to make it to the final has been revealed. The Countryfile host and her professional dance partner performed twice during last weekend's semi-final.

During a first for the BBC One dance contest as the live show aired on Sunday night (December 12), Helen and Gorka went up against Molly Rainford, Hamza Yassin, Will Mellor, and Fleur East in a bid for a place in this weekend's grand final.

The pair kicked off their semi-final with a waltz to Only One Road by Celine Dion. Former Blue Peter presenter Helen wowed fans in an elegant white and gold number as she glided around the ballroom floor with her partner.

The pair then later performed the Argentine tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by Eurythmics. But a wardrobe malfunction occurred as her heel got caught in her stunning blue sequin dress. However, Helen powered through and earned a score of 37 as Shirley gave the lowest score of 8 while Motsi and Anton gave them both a 10.

Then on Monday, during the delayed results show, it was revealed that Helen and Gorka had safely made it through to the final on the public vote alongside Molly and Carlos Gu and Hamza and Jowita Przystał and Fleur and partner Vito Coppola, who had to fight for their place in the last week of the show after landing in the dreaded dance-off for the fourth time.

The dancing couple have since been hard at work in the training room preparing for their three dances but a video revealing what the couples were saying to each other during their latest stint in the ballroom has been released.

And it appears Helen, 39, had only one question for her dance partner, 32, when they finished their first performance of the semi-final. "Happy?" the former Blue Peter host is heard saying to Gorka in a moment picked up by secret microphones worn by the couples and then shared on the BBC show's social media channels.

As for Gorka's response, it was pretty simple. "Yes!" he said as the pair then walked over to chat with co-host Tess Daly about their performance. On Thursday (December 15), Helen and Gorka shared an update as they had their 'last day' in the studio.

Gorka videos the pair in their rehearsal room with an acoustic verison of Journey's 'Don't Stop Beliving' playing in the background. "Last day of rehearsal," Gorka shouts across the room before Helen hurries across in a scarf and asks: "Is it happy or sad?"

"It's happy/sad," Gorka replied before Helen asked: "Is it relief?" before he assured her it wasn't. Helen said: "I'm excited for the weekend." Gorka then cheered: "One more show, let's do this team! We can do this together. We can do it!"
