Strictly Come Dancing fans think they have spotted what could be a boost for Kym Marsh this weekend after she was forced to miss the start of rehearsals. At the start of this week, the actress and presenter had to pull out of her presenting gig on Morning Live as well as call in sick for rehearsals for the dance contest.
Kym was unable to host the BBC One show with Gethin Jones as she had "caught a bug" on Sunday. Gethin and Oti Mabuse, who had stepped in to replace the usual host, were given a health update by Kym when she appeared on the BBC One show via video link. The former Coronation Street star told the hosts she was determined to recover so she could dance again on Saturday evening with her partner, Graziano Di Prima.
Gethin revealed Kym was on the phone with her doctor on Sunday night as she was not feeling well. He said: "We thought we would give her a call this morning to see how she is doing after Saturday night." Kym, wearing a cosy pink jumper, then appeared speaking live from her Warrington home She said: "I'm all right, I just caught a little bug off one of the children, unfortunately. I caught it yesterday on the train on the way home so that was nice." Gethin appeared concerned about Kym being dance-fit for the next show.
But she optimistically replied: "Yeah, I will be, I will pull myself through. It's only one of those 24-hour things and I think you have got to get out there and do it no matter what, even if you've got bits dropping off. You've got to get out there and go for it, otherwise what happens?"
And it appears she has headed back to training. On Tuesday, the 46-year-old took to Instagram with a photo of a chalk board which hade a message written on from those who work at the studio where Kym and Graziano rehearse. It read: "Pure and Simple w'ere Team Marshiano," hinting at Kym's former career as a pop star with Hear'Say.
The board had also been designed with drawings of the Union Jack and Italian flag in homage to the dancing couple. "How cute is our dance studio though!!!" Kym penned alongside the images. "Thanks for your support guys!!"
It has also been revealed that this weekend, Kym and Graziano will be performing an American Smooth to 'Chasing Cars' by Cinematic Pop. And fans of the show were quick to point out that Kym had mentioned the song before even stepping foot on the dancefloor as part of her introduction package.
The former soap star was left red-faced in a promotional video ahead of the new series back in September when she revealed: "I would love to dance to Chasing Cars by Paw Patrol." She then burst out laughing, exclaiming, "Paw Patrol? Paw Patrol!" before composing herself with the correction: "Snow Patrol."
And while the grandmother-of-three is dancing to a different version, Strictly fans were quick to remember her earlier comments. @styleofstrictly cheered: "KYM GOT THE SONG SHE WANTED." @pinkcatjo joked: "Great to see that @marsh_kym will get to dance to Paw Patrol!" @xx_carchelle_xx posted: "Yay so happy kym got her favourite song Chasing Cars Can't wait to see her dance on Saturday."
