BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans make same demand after watching Nicola Roberts in Christmas special

Strictly Come Dancing fans made the same demand after watching Nicola Roberts' performance on the Christmas special.

The Girls Aloud member stunned the audience and judges with her waltz with partner Giovani Pernice on Christmas Day to Silent Night.

She was awarded a hugely impressive 39 points with Craig Revel Horwood describing the dance as 'graceful, elegant, and classy'.

He said: "It was absolutely beautiful, it really really was".

After watching the dance viewers watching at home all wanted to see more of the popstar on the show - and called for her to take part in next year's series.

@Auntygoya tweeted: "She was FABulous.. Main show next year ..? @Hannanar added: "Petition to get [Nicola] on the next series because this is beautiful.

And @PJN74 added: "Nicola Roberts is too good not to be in the proper series #Strictly

Nicola was the fifth celebrity confirmed for the Christmas special. She joined Gavin and Stacey actor Larry Lamb and Nadiya Bychkova; soap actress Alexandra Mardell and Kai Widdrington, DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams and Luba Mushtuk; podcaster Rosie Ramsey and Neil Jones; and CBeebies presenter George Webster and Amy Dowden.

Despite Nicola's dance wowing the crowd the winners on the night were Alexandra Mardell and Kai Widdrington.

Nicola is best known for being one fifth of Girls Aloud, who were formed 20 years ago this Christmas. The band achieved a record breaking 20 consecutive Top 10 singles and won a Brit Award for their number one single The Promise.

In 2020 she was crowned the winner of the first series of ITV’s The Masked Singer UK.

The festive edition of the show came just over a week after fans tuned in to the final of the 20th series of the hit BBC dance competition. Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal were crowned the winners of Strictly 2022.
