Helen Skelton has been tipped for the final of Strictly Come Dancing after impressing the judges with her latest routine. The Countryfile host looked worlds away from the farms and fields seen on the agricultural show as she channeled a sparkling Little Red Riding Hood during the BBC one dance contest's Halloween special.
Helen, who dressed as the lead character from the classic fairytale while dance partner Gorka Marquez immersed himself into the role of the wolf, scored an impressive 32 for their Foxtrot to Lil’ Red Riding Hood by Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs.
Speaking about the TV and radio host following their performance, Craig Revel Horwood, who was unrecognisable dressed as Morticia Addams, said: "Your frame bothered me ever so slightly, I can see the mechanics of it and you really don’t want to see the mechanics of it, but it did have a lovely flow."
Motsi Mabuse gave the highest praise, telling the 39-year-old: “I honestly have to say I adore watching you dance. I see you getting stronger and stronger… I know it’s quite early but you are giving me some final vibes."
Meanwhile, Anton Du Beke said: "I really really enjoyed it, I thought it was a tremendous example of a foxtrot. You had a wonderful flow. All in all I just thought it was a beautiful foxtrot." And head judge Shirley Ballas added: "Slow and steady always wins the race, I think you are giving us a bit of your soul week after week. You are on the right track."
Craig gave the pair the lowest score, a seven out of 10, while Motsi and Shirley both scored Helen and Gorka an eight while Anton was clearly impressed as he gave the "tremendous example of a foxtrot" an almost-perfect nine.
But while Strictly viewers were impressed by Helen and Gorka's latest dance, they were left annoyed at the judges and their scoring of the couple.

This is ridiculous now. Helen is In a completely different league to Tony but 3 out of 4 judges give her the same score. What is the point? #Strictly."
Others, however, are worried Helen and Gorka's song choice may have let them down. @laurabarr39 tweeted: "Everyone has had uptempo songs tonight apart from helen think thats a bit unfair #strictly." @TashAmaka said: "Oh dear. Song was boring as hell didn’t help Helen. It was all a little dull, sorry Helen #Strictly."
