BBC Sports presenter Gabby Logan gives tearful update on husband Kenny's cancer battle

Gabby Logan broke down in tears during a podcast while speaking about her husband’s cancer journey.

The former international gymnast gave listeners a behind the scenes look at the devastating moment the couple received the cancer diagnosis and talked of their lives since then.

As the Daily Record reported, the BBC Sports presenter spoke through tears about remaining positive and keeping a goal in mind after receiving the diagnosis, and during an appearance on Steven Bartlett's The Diary of a CEO podcast this week, she broke down in tears while speaking about Kenny’s 'horrible' battle with cancer.

"[When we received the diagnosis ] he was really upset as you can imagine and I just thought, 'Right no, this is going to be absolutely fine, what are we going to do? What are the answers here?’” Gabby recalled.

Former Scots rugby star Kenny Logan, 50, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February this year after Gabby, 49, urged him to go to the doctors.

Gabby and Kenny got married in 2001 two years after meeting, and the couple have two 16-year-old children together.

Gabby said she knew deep-down she "wasn't going to lose" her husband. Through tears, Gabby said the entire journey had made them both stronger.

“His neurologist was brilliant, he's a brilliant communicator and told us what the options were and I was like, (to Kenny) 'We've just got to get a plan together, you need to know what you're doing and then we will keep being positive about it.' That's what we did really, once we got over the initial shock, we just really kind of focused on it as a project we had to deal with and it's a b****y awful operation."

Through the course of treatment, Kenny has had to have six stab wounds in his torso which were ‘really invasive.’

“It's horrible to see him in the pain he was afterwards, it's a horrible thing to go through but he's doing really really well now,” Gabby said, composing herself.

“He's just great, I'm very lucky. He's a great man and I couldn't ever wish for anybody to have shared my life with, who is better.”
