BBC correspondent David Cowan thanked doctors and nurses after being taken to hospital for a hand injury which began to turn septic

David, who is Home Affairs Correspondent for BBC Scotland, showed his gratitude online.

And the Edinburgh based reporter also posted a picture of an appetising looking meal served up to him during his six day long stay at St John's hospital in Livingston.
