The BBC made a swift change to its programming in response to the concerning update about The Queen, scrapping Bargain Hunt part way through to switch to the news, with other shows also being cancelled.
Shortly after 12.30pm a statement came in from Buckingham Palace which read: "Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
In the minutes that followed it was then confirmed that The Queen's son, Prince Charles had gone to be with her at Balmoral, with Prince William also en route.

The news about Her Majesty's health came just days after she welcomed new prime minister Liz Truss to Balmoral, and the Conservative leader was one of the first public figures to publicly react to the news, taking to Twitter to post: "The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts - and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time."
When the news about The Queen came in, an episode of Bargain Hunt hadn't long started on BBC One in its usual lunchtime slot, but was cut short as the channel immediately cut to the news as the strap line 'HM Queen Elizabeth's Health' appeared on screen' above the words 'The Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral.'
The rolling news coverage about Queen Elizabeth's continued into the usual time slot of the 1 o'clock News and into the afternoon's programming as further schedule changes were made as Doctors was also axed, as Huw Edwards took to the hosting chair.
