Gasps were heard on The One Show last night, Wednesday, May 18, as one guest took a verbal swipe at broadcaster Piers Morgan. The topical BBC evening show aired in its usual 7.00pm slot. The remark that made the presenters' jaws drop came during the introduction of the Watchdog slot
Hosts were left speechless and there were audible gasps from the presenters as Matt Allwright introduced this week's segment. Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas were on the sofa with special guests Ainsley Harriott, Grace Dent and James Acaster.
Matt Allwright was first up as he presented the latest edition of Watchdog at the start of the episode, reported Birmingham Live. He said: "Tonight, in The One Show's Green Week you might think you're saving environmentally sound pounds but does your pension need some attention?"

He continued: "I've been talking to film maker Richard Curtis as he's on a mission to stop the nation's nest eggs being part of the planet's problem. And we've forced the subs to come to the surface - the subscriptions that are so hard to cancel you'd think they'd taken tips from Piers Morgan."
As the camera switched back to show Alex and Jermaine's reaction, the BBC presenters were shown looking visibly shocked at Matt's comments about former Good Morning Britain host. Alex gasped as Jermaine laughed awkwardly before quickly saying: "Thank you very much Matt," as he introduced the next segment.
The One Show airs on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
