BBC's Strictly sees major schedule change this week with live show on Friday and Sunday results show moved

Strictly Come Dancing is seeing a major TV scheduling change this week due to the World. Cup.

This week will be the live quarter final and due to the World Cup, there has been a shake-up as to when it will be aired.

The live quarter-final will air on Friday at 8pm with the results show then playing on Saturday, at the earlier time of 5.40pm.

The change up is due to the BBC airing the World Cup fixtures on Saturday evening.

England will play Senegal on Sunday evening, and that game will be shown on ITV.

Sunday saw Ellie Taylor leave the show after facing Fleur East in the dance-off.

Ellie finished bottom of the Strictly leaderboard at the end of Saturday night's live show, when her jive only got 25 out of 40 from the judges, with Craig Revel-Horwood particularly harsh, as he awarded just 5 for the routine.

That meant Ellie and pro partner Johannes Radebe had an uphill battle going into the public vote, relying on fans to keep them in for another week.

Will Mellor and his partner Nancy Xu topped the leader board with their Charleston, scoring 38 points.

Behind them were wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin and his partner Jowita Przystal with 37 points.
