BBC star Deborah James has updated her followers on her battle with cancer, announcing the tragic news that she is now in hospice care.

The 40-year-old, who has been battling stage 4 bowel cancer for nearly five years, is surrounded by her family and friends as she shared the sad update via Twitter.

Deborah has admitted that despite battling the disease for so long, the news that she won't be getting better is hard news to accept, the Daily Record reports.
