Viewers of BBC's Ambulance were moved by an episode showing the work of those on the front line, which aired on a day where ambulance workers took up strike action across the UK.
The fifth episode of the Ambulance series highlighted the day to day of ambulance workers Chris and Becca, which moved viewers to tears.
The hard work of the ambulance workers was praised by viewers as thousands of workers went on strike in the face of "disheartening" and "demoralising" conditions in the NHS.
In the news, many ambulance workers have stressed that the last place they want to be is on the picket line, but they feel there is little other choice as they await a government response.
As the episode aired on BBC One, viewers took to social media to share their support for ambulance workers like Chris and Becca. One viewer tweeted: "Anyone who don't agree with paramedic strike pls watch @BBCOne #Ambulance now for a small, small snippet of what they go through."
Another agreed, as they wrote: "Hope the government are watching tonight and feel ashamed, this is the reality, not just today, every bloody day! @RishiSunak @SteveBarclay".
"Oh, the poor lost souls on Ambulance are making me cry tonight," said a third.
One viewer described how "undervalued" the ambulance service is, as they shared: "#Ambulance It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen a documentary which is so relevant to today and makes me realise just how much this profession has been undervalued. I’m with each and everyone of you all the way and I truly hope you get rewarded accordingly."
Another added: "After watching Ambulance tonight on BBC you deserve every penny."
However some viewers felt airing the episode on the day of strike action wasn't right, and it should have been rescheduled.
One viewer tweeted: "I'm sorry @BBC but you shouldn't be showing #Ambulance tonight when they are on strike....re runs of Crossroads or anything else please rather than propaganda!"
Yet many sided with those on strike.
One Viewer shared: "The men and women of the North East #Ambulance service on #BBC tonight. If you think these beautiful people don't deserve a whole lot more reward than they currently get, you need to give your head a wobble."
Another agreed, as they wrote: "Watch the show ‘Ambulance’ on BBC and you soon realise how abused the system is."
"The system is broken, totally and utterly crumbled," said another.
Another viewer added: "Watching the amazing NHS staff on Ambulance on BBC 1 makes me even madder about the s*** show the NHS is suffering at the hands of the Tories!"
