A BBC Radio Leeds presenter has been praised for her 'brutal' interview of Prime Minister Liz Truss.
The under-fire PM appeared on BBC Radio Leeds on Thursday morning to answer questions about the state of the economy. Presenter Rima Ahmed started the interview asking Ms Truss the question on many people's lips this week: "Where've you been?" following her mini-budget announcement the previous week.
Rima said: "Since Friday, when your Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng's mini-budget, the pound has dropped to a record low, the IMF has said that you should re-evaluate your policies and the Bank of England has had to spend £65 billion to prop up the markets because of what they describe as a 'material risk'. Where've you been?"

After a momentary silence, Ms Truss answered with: "Well, I think we've got to remember the situation we were facing this winter. We were facing a situation where people could have had to pay energy bills of up to £6,000, where inflation was increasing and where we were looking at an economic slowdown which would have had a huge impact right across the country, including in places like Leeds.
"So, we had to take decisive action and that's why we took action to make sure people aren't paying a typical fuel bill of more than £2,500, that's going to come in this Saturday."
She also acknowledged the economy was in a difficult place and said the government was working closely alongside the Bank of England. Across social media, many weren't impressed with the Prime-Minister's performance but praised Rima for her 'brutal' questioning.
Claire tweeted: "Liz expected the local radio to be soft ball questions and then she met Rima. Good work BBC Radio Leeds."
Matthew Cooper also commented on her appearances on other radio shows. He said: "I’ve just listened to the individual five minute interviews given to BBC radio Leeds, Nottingham and Kent.
"I don’t think I have ever heard a prime minister sound that out of their depth before. Shocked and stunned doesn’t even start to cover it. Amazed if she makes Christmas."
