BBC Radio 2’s Trevor Nelson steps away from airwaves for health reasons

  • BBC Radio 2 presenter Trevor Nelson has announced he is taking a break from his work commitments to address health issues.
  • The 62-year-old broadcaster has been absent from his regular weekday 2-4pm slot on Radio 2 after being advised to undergo follow-up tests following a routine check-up.
  • Nelson stated on Instagram that he is now concentrating on getting better, being back to 100 per cent me before he returns to his roles behind the microphone and decks.
  • Despite his current break, listeners will be able to hear him present the pre-recorded “The Music Is Black” concert from Hackney Empire on BBC Radio 2 this Sunday night.
  • Earlier this week, Trevor Nelson was recognised with the Tric special award at the Television and Radio Industries Club Awards.
