BBC Radio 2's Rylan Clark plans to take a break from show

TV and radio star Rylan Clark is taking a break from his BBC Radio 2 show. His announcement came just hours after Phillip Schofield stepped down from This Morning with immediate effect following rumours of a rift with co-presenter Holly Willoughby.

Clarke, a former Big Brother and ITV The X Factor star, aged 34, previously took time off from work as he struggled through 'the worst time' in his life after he spilt from his husband of six years Dan Neal in 2021.

On his break from Radio 2, he said: "This is where I should say ladies I won't be catching up with you next week. Because I am off to do some other bits and bobs so I'm not going to be here for a fair few weeks." He added: "I just want to say whoever is looking after this seat for a fair few weeks can you please make sure you look after Couch Potatoes."

It comes after Rylan admitted a rift with a famous TV star, reports Birmingham Live. Rylan, who has hosted huge shows including Big Brother's Bit On The Side, Strictly's It Takes Two, The Xtra Factor, and This Morning, shared some insight into his life as a TV presenter in the new interview, admitting that he can 'see through' people very clearly now.

After over a decade in showbiz, Rylan observed: "People can see through it all now. People can see who are the real ones and can very much see who isn't. I've been in this industry for nearly 11 years, and all I've ever been is nice and polite to people."
