BBC Peaky Blinders: Stephen Graham has a famous actress wife and they love holidaying in Wales

Acting favourite Stephen Graham makes his debut in the final series of Peaky Blinders this month and he's built up a real following since his time in Shane Meadows' This is England as the skinhead Combo.

Born in Kirby, Liverpool, the actor is married to fellow actor, Hannah Walters opposite whom he has starred umpteen times. The pair have two children, Grace and Alfie, and the family live in Leicestershire.

The couple have been married since 2008 and most recently starred in the tense BBC prison-set drama, Time, opposite Sean Bean, but their on-screen roles have seen them both in This is England, Pirates of the Caribbean and their latest, critically-acclaimed film, Boiling Point.

But despite their much-lauded acting careers, with Stephen also starring in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, Care, Band of Brothers, Line of Duty and so much more, the down-to-earth family love holidaying at home in the UK and have had the time of their lives in Pembrokeshire in recent years.

Back in 2020 the four visited Tenby and made the most of what was absolutely stunning weather down west at the time, with Stephen and Alfie jumping off the harbour and Grace joining them for an early morning pelt into the sea at North Beach. Hannah was on the other side of the camera filming the exploits and enjoying the sun.

The pair met in drama school in the 1990s and were close friends before falling in love - but they almost didn't get together after Stephen admitted, on Desert Island discs in 2019, that he was unsure of what he wanted, being in his early twenties and that the saying 'you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone' is truer than he thought.

He explained: "She went to Spain for a little bit and I couldn't see her, and she was going to move out there. She came back and we hadn't been on a date in these five years, six years, just talking lots. And I said 'can I take you on a date?' She went 'what?'

"And we went to see Saving Private Ryan, had a bite to eat in Greenwich and we were at New Cross train station and I said 'please don't go to Spain.'

"She asked 'why?' and I said 'Well, I love you.' She said she'd been waiting five years for me to say that. And the next day we moved in together. And we've been together ever since."

It's not certain what character Stephen is playing in the upcoming Peaky Blinders episodes, but the show's creator, Steven Knight has always wanted the Scouser to be in it.

He said: "A character was starting to develop in the Liverpool docks.

“And you just think, well, there can be nobody else for this character,” he told Digital Spy. "So it's somebody who comes up against Tommy, who isn't an enemy, really."
