Roman Kemp has revealed how attendees at a 'royal afterparty' event during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations ended the night on an unexpected note. Alex Jones welcomed her guest co-presenter to The One Show sofa on Thursday and congratulated him on his “very busy weekend.” And indeed, the weekend was busy for the young presenter, who headed up the Platinum Party at the Palace.
Roman, who was smiling from ear to ear, told Alex about how he got to go to a 'royal afterparty' after the event. Astounded, Alex said: “Hang on, what? With the royals?” and he confirmed that they were in attendance. He said: “The best thing about it was at the end of a party at Buckingham Palace, you’d expect them to slowly and cautiously usher everyone out. They just switched the lights on.”
The Capital Breakfast presenter, 29, compared the treatment he had at Buckingham Palace to his nightclub experiences at home in London. “It’s the exact same thing they do at Destiny nightclub in Watford,” he told an amused Alex. “End of the night, you’re out!”
