A BBC News channel was forced off air on Tuesday morning as the live broadcast was interrupted by a sudden evacuation.
BBC North East and Cumbria were preparing to broadcast their breakfast programming for Look North viewers when the fire alarm in the building went off.
Taking to Twitter to confirm the news through the official BBC North East and Cumbria account, the regional news broadcaster apologised to viewers with an explanation.
