Fans of Jools Holland's Annual Hootenanny said they feel robbed as they discovered the show is not actually filmed live. The show is actually filmed in December - despite a full countdown for New Year's.
The BBC Two musical tradition, which is celebrating its 30th anniversay, is a much-loved part of the New Year's Eve schedule, Birmingham Live reports. The BBC has previously described the Hootenanny as an "idealised New Year’s Eve party with a line-up that would surely be impossible to deliver on 31st December".
Special guests on this year's Hootenanny include George Ezra, Gabrielle, Cat Burns and Self Esteem. But viewers were gobsmacked to find out the show was not actually broadcast live - and they took to social media to voice their frustration.

And @HonestJ13162013 added: "Happy New Year. I burst someone's bubble last night when I told them Jools Holland's Hootenanny is actually prerecorded in the summer and only presented as live. FAKE COUNTDOWN!"
