BBC It Takes Two chaos as Rylan Clark issues statement over Helen and Gorka interview

Rylan Clark was back presenting in his usual It Takes Two slot on Monday, December 5. The BBC presenter, who was replaced by co-host Janette Manrara last week, introduced the show and explained he would be chatting to Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez following their incredible performance and Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima after their Strictly Come Dancing exit.

However, Rylan informed viewers that due to filming commitments, Helen and Gorka would not be joining him in the studio as usual and would be instead appearing on video link from a barn in Yorkshire.

He explained: "Now, sadly, Helen and Gorka can't be here with us in the studio. Helen is away filming on a farm somewhere - that's right guys, she has a job! - but unfortunately, they can't be here in person. But virtually, give it up for Helen and Gorka."

"So lovely to see you guys," Rylan added, before warning viewers: "Now before we chat we should let viewers at home know as well that because of some technical issues there is a three-second delay so wish us luck – this is television!"

After a pause, Helen then responded: "There are cows and bulls that could break free at any second! The three-second delay is the least of our problems."

Responding to the chaos, one viewer wrote: "I love that technology exists to talk to astronauts in space, but getting a video feed from Helen's farm without technical issues and a massive delay is impossible #ItTakesTwo."

While another commented on a horse that was in view: "Loving the photobombing horse getting in on the act on #ItTakesTwo. Enjoying its moment of fame." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
