Adele soared back into the public eye in 2021 when she dropped the first track from her latest album 30 and announced her return to the music industry.
The 33-year-old singer first shot to fame in 2008, when her first album 19 was released and she was the first to be named Critics' Choice at the Brit Awards in the same year.
Since then she has gone on to release three best-selling albums and has won numerous awards from Grammys to Golden Globes and in 2013 an Oscar for Best Original Song in the James Bond Movie Skyfall.

Earlier this week, Adele picked up a further three Brit awards to add to her collection; Best Album, Best Artist and Best Song of the Year for Easy on Me.
She also sent rumours swirling as she took to the red carpet wearing a long black dress and a huge diamond rock on her wedding hand.
But this isn't the first time the star has been across headlines in recent weeks, as the sudden cancellation of her Las Vegas residency in January left many fans reeling and waiting for further updates.
Is Adele engaged?
Adele recently sparked rumours that she had got engaged to her American boyfriend and sports agent, Rich Paul after she was spotted at the Brit Awards on Tuesday, February 8 wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
Nothing was confirmed by the singer on the night and it could have been an item of jewellery to match her droplet diamond earrings.
But in new images of her appearing on The Graham Norton Show, the London-born star seems to still be wearing the same diamond ring.
She was asked on the BBC One chat show if the diamond ring she is wearing means she is engaged, to which she replied: “If I was would I ever tell anyone if I was or wasn’t?”
It is believed the singer has been dating 40-year-old Rich Paul since 2021 and Adele revealed on The Graham Norton Show she'd "like to have more children" suggesting the pair might be looking to settle down.
Asked if she will once again take a break following her Las Vegas dates - once they're re-scheduled - she replied: "I definitely will but I am trying to make a conscious effort to stop being so anal with my privacy. I’m trying not to be two completely different versions of myself.
"It is exhausting switching on and off. I will be disappearing in terms of my music, but you might see a glimpse of me now and then and I won’t be in complete hiding. It takes me a while to recharge, and I would like to have more children – I only just feel like I’ve caught up with my sleep from nine years ago when I had my son.”
The truth behind the Las Vegas residency
The 33-year-old singer has recently divided her fan-base following a late cancellation of her three-month Las Vegas residency.
She had taken to social media on January 20 2022, just a day before her show in Vegas was set to start, to announce the dates would not be going ahead and in her caption added: "More info will be coming soon".
In her video message to fans, she said they had been "destroyed by delivery delays and covid" with half of her team down with the virus.
Grammy-winning country music singer Keith Urban - married to actress Nicole Kidman - has since stepped in to replace the residency.
It was reported that the star had cancelled the dates due to her relationship with her boyfriend Rich Paul being 'on the rocks' but she seemed to quash those rumours when posting on Instagram that she would be returning to the UK to perform at the Brits.
In a post on Instagram, Adele wrote: "Hiya, so I'm really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!! Anddddd I'll also be popping in to see Graham for a chat on the couch while I'm in town too! i'm looking forward to it! Oh, and Rich sends his love"
There were also reports that the singer was in disagreement over the set design, which included an onstage pool.
Addressing the recent cancellations, Adele said on the Graham Norton show that she "regrets" waiting until so late to tell fans and confirms the rescheduled dates will be "happening this year".
“I tried my hardest and really thought I would be able to pull something together in time," the singer explained: "I regret that I kept going until that late in the day. It would have been a really half-arsed show and I can’t do that. People will see straight through me up on the stage and know I didn’t want to be doing it. I’ve never done anything like that in my life and I’m not going to start now.
“We are now working our arses off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready. The sooner I can announce the better, but I just can’t in case we are not ready in time. It is absolutely 100% happening this year. It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year. Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”
Adele dedicates Brit Award win to ex-husband and son
Adele won three awards at the 2022 Brits - bringing her total number of Brit Awards won throughout her career to 12.
When accepting her award for Best Album, she got emotional as she dedicated her win to her son and ex-husband, Simon Konecki.
Speaking at the Brits podium she said: "Thank you very much, thank you again the company I'm in up in that it was really phenomenal.
"Obviously I thank everyone I work with, like the labels and stuff but I'd like to dedicate this award to my son," she said before choking up. "And to Simon, to his Dad, this album was all of our journey not just mine.
"I'm very proud of myself for sticking to my guns and putting out an album that was about something so personal to me, because not many people do stuff like that anymore."
Her album 30 was centred around her divorce from charity entrepreneur Simon - which was confirmed in 2019 - the pair had been together since 2011 and married secretly in 2018.
One of the songs on the album - My Little Love - included voice recordings of her conversations with her young son, Angelo, and a voicemail she left to a friend in where she talks about being "frightened" and "feeling lonely" following her separation from Simon.
Talking about her Brits success on Graham Norton, Adele said: "I am very happy, really chuffed. In my speech I wanted to acknowledge other people and my son who is old enough now. I don’t share too much of him, but they are my little soulmates – Angelo and Simon. Our family is separated but we’re nailing it and doing a really, really good job.”
Adele will be a guest on The Graham Norton Show alongside Oscar-winners Dame Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent, Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel, and singer-songwriter George Ezra on BBC One on Friday, February 11 from 10:35pm.
