BBC EastEnders fans fear devastating Lola wedding twist after date change

BBC Eastenders fans worry Lola Pearce’s wedding day could result in devastating scenes amid a theory she could die on the big day due to her brain tumour diagnosis. In the latest episode of the BBC soap, Lola brought forward her wedding date with boyfriend Jay Brown due to her illness.

She announced it to her family and friends and her father figure Billy Mitchell was left heartbroken. Eastenders viewers fear that the change of the wedding date might result in heartbreaking scenes on Jay and Lola's wedding day, reports The Mirror.

“Why do I feel Lola gonna die on her wedding day I hope not,” said one fan on Twitter. Another tweeted: “Honestly got a gut feeling that Lola will lose her battle to cancer on her wedding day I really hope not.”

Another fan added: “Will Lola make it to the aisle?” Another viewer had a theory about the future episode. They said: “I think after the reception – Lola gets tired and Jay walks her home and they stop at Arthur’s bench and sit and talk.

“She thanks him for the wedding day and quietly passes away in Jay’s arms while he’s talking to her.” In the emotional scenes on Thursday, January 12, Billy opened up to Honey Mitchell about his fears for the big day.

As Lola celebrated, the couple whispered as they sat across the table from her, Billy said: “She’s dying. Look at her. She’s smiling and I don't know how – I wish I could still worry about being in prison.

“While that was going on I didn't have to think about what’s happening and now that’s all I can think about. It’s breaking my heart.”

Honey said: “You look at her again and really look at her. That girl is living what she has left of her life in the best possible way she can. The last thing she needs is for you to get upset.

“She needs you to be proud of her and support her. She doesn’t need your tears. She needs her Pops. So go and be her Pops.” EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One
