BBC EastEnders fans distracted by actress Letitia Dean as Sharon tries to sabotage Phil and Kat's wedding

EastEnders fans couldn't help but comment on Letitia Dean's latest appearance on the soap as Sharon Watts tried to sabotage her ex Phil Mitchell's wedding to Kat Slater. During Wednesday night's trip to Walford, it was time for Phil and Kat to tie the knot.

The iconic character set about trying to win Phil back after the pair almost ended up kissing after Kat failed to show up to her wedding – after finding herself stuck on a boat with her ex-Alfie Moon after Shane Richie recently reprised his role in the BBC One soap.

Sharon was clear that she wanted her ex back and tried to persuade him that she is everything he needs but just as they were about to lock lips, the priest interrupted and Kat finally made it to the church. Phil, played by Steve McFadden, made the decision to stick with Kat and the pair revealed they had set another date for their wedding.

But while the wedding drama was unfolded, EastEnders fans were distracted by Sharon - or should we say Letitia who has played the Walford favourite for over 35 years. The 54-year-old wore an off-the-shoulder navy dress as her character headed to ruin the nuptials. The classy dress featured elegant ruched detail which she paired with a some classic black heels.

Meanwhile, the actress's trademark blonde locks were pulled away from her face in a low ponytail. And viewers were soon applauding Leticia for her incredible new look. @PradaTemi tweeted: "Sharon looks so good in #EastEnders."

@shirlpuzz typed: "Sharon looks absolutely stunning at the moment. #EastEnders." @GiftyAntwi_ echoed: "Sharon looks stunning #EastEnders." Leticia has recently shared how she has dropped from 10st 4lbs to 8st 3lbs in four months by switching up her diet.

And while some were focused on her look, others were quick to blast her character over her latest move. @amelouwilliams tweeted: "Sharon you are so desperate. I just cringe watching. #EastEnders." @mikepriestley13 commented: "The desperation from Sharon stinks #EastEnders." @SuziFabLane added: "Sharon Watts is actually aggravating me #Eastenders."

Earlier this week EastEnders was praised for being the first soap to pay a moving tribute to the Queen. As with other programmes and broadcasters, scheduling patterns for EastEnders have been altered in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The Queen died peacefully on Thursday, September 8, at the age of 96, just a few short months after the country celebrated her 70-year reign.

But on Monday evening, viewers got to get their Albert Square fix and the episode began with no theme tune and instead saw Linda Carter looking at a photo of Her Majesty in the Queen Vic pub. There was a period of silence before she, Denise Fox, and Kathy Beale began to reminisce about the Queen.

They then ended their chat by saying: "Long live the King." Linda then gave some thought as to where to place The Queens’ picture, before settling on the bar, right beside the iconic Queen Vic bust. "Take care of her, won’t you?", she said to the bust, before looking at the photo of Queen Elizabeth II and saying: "Thank You Ma’am, from all of us."
