BBC Coronation Concert line-up, sketches including Sir Tom Jones, presenters and timings

The Coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort took place on Saturday, May 6 but the celebrations are far from over. On Sunday, May 7 a unique Coronation Concert will be held to mark the historic occasion.

The Coronation Concert, which will be broadcast on BBC, will bring music icons and contemporary stars together in celebration and will be attended by a public audience including volunteers from The King and The Queen Consort's many charity affiliations.

BBC Chief Content Officer, Charlotte Moore, said: "We are bringing the nation together for this once in a generation occasion, broadcast exclusively across the BBC live from Windsor Castle. We have a world class line up of performers to look forward to for what promises to be a very special night of celebration and entertainment."

But when is the Coronation Concert, how can you watch it, who are the presenters, who is in the line-up and what can you expect? Here's everything you need to know.

When is the Coronation Concert taking place?

The Coronation Concert will be broadcast from 8pm on Sunday, May 7. It will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, as well as BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

Who are the Coronation Concert presenters?

The concert will be presented by Hugh Bonneville with Kirsty Young returning to anchor the special live broadcast for BBC Television and iPlayer. Kirsty will host within the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the concert will take place on the castle’s East Lawn.

Clara Amfo and Jordan Banjo will be backstage with the artists who will perform in front of 20,000 members of the public. While BBC Radio 2 will capture the atmosphere of the concert ahead of the event, with Scott Mills speaking to the performers, while Dermot O’Leary will be amongst the crowds.

As part of the Coronation Concert, The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera, the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal College of Music and The Royal College of Art will come together for the first time ever to create a spectacular one-off performance featuring Ncuti Gatwa and Mei Mac.

Alongside the stars of the concert, the show will also see an exclusive appearance from The Coronation Choir. The 300-strong choir, conducted by Gareth Malone, will include singing groups ranging from London Cabbies, an all-deaf sign performance group, a Northern Irish farming community and an LGBTQ+ choir; to a Gaelic choir hailing from the Western Isles of Scotland, Hull’s NHS choir, a traditional male voice choir from Caerphilly and a refugee choir, also from Wales.

Who will appear in the Coronation Concert sketches?

Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins and Sir Tom Jones will also feature in the concert via video message. They will be joned by Disney's Winnie the Pooh, Bear Grylls OBE and Oti Mabuse in a series of pre-recorded sketches and segments revealing little-known facts about The King.

What is Lighting up the Nation?

Labelled a "centrepiece" in the Coronation Concert, the BBC has said: "Lighting up the Nation, will see the country join together in celebration as iconic locations across the United Kingdom are lit up using projections, lasers, potential drone displays and illuminations."

Locations set to take part include Blackpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Cornwall, and Cardiff, which will see a drone display illuminate the night sky above Wales Millennium Centre, bringing the building to life. You can read more on this here.
