BBC chairman Samir Shah has apologised “for that error of judgment" over the editing of a speech by US President Donald Trump for Panorama.

The apology, in a letter to the chair of the Common’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee (CMS), follows the resignation of two of the corporation's most senior figures on Sunday.
