BBC Breakfast seemed to be going smoothly this morning - that was however until an alarm began to sound.

As a result, this morning's (March 25) had to be taken off air and according to Hull Live, they had been interviewing someone at the time.

BBC presenters Rachel Burden and Roger Johnson were sitting on the red sofa alongside The Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur after it was revealed that she would become Alan Sugar's next business partner on Thursday night (March 24).

Viewers heard the alarm go off and the presenters made their apologies as the studio was evacuated on at around 9:55am - televisions later just saw the orange BBC Breakfast screen.

On twitter, Rachel later confirmed to viewers what had happened stating everything was okay writing: "It's all ok folks - false alarm and yes I did get some cookie pie and get to chat to the fabulous @harpsikaur."

Rachel said as the alarm went off: "Ahh so we’ve been disturbed by an alarm which may mean that we have to slow things down for a moment

“I’m so sorry everyone. For the time being we’re going to have to leave the studios. So we’ll see if we can come back before the end of the show."

Roger said: “Thank you, enjoy what you’re doing for the rest of the day. I think we are going to have to go."

Thankfully the rest of the BBC's TV schedule went ahead as planned.
