BBC Breakfast star sends message of support as presenter hospitalised

BBC Breakfast star John Watson received messages of support from his colleagues after sharing a picture from a hospital bed.

John posted a picture of himself in a hospital gown while sporting a bandage with an arrow on his leg as he recovered from a knee injury.

The presenter said he tore his meniscus, which is a common type of damage to cartilage in the knee. The cartilage is found between the bones in the knee joint and protects them when you move.

A meniscus tear usually happens when you twist your knee while playing sport John captioned the snap: "Less of a dash more of a hop to the studio come Monday."

According to OK, messages of support came pouring in as Jon Kay quickly rushed to share a cheeky get well soon post. He wrote: "Take care, John. I’ve got a glittery sock for the other foot if you need it."

Broadcaster John Bennett said: "Oh no. Get well soon mate. More bad news for Ryan Mason." And assistant editor for BBC Breakfast James O'Hara said: "Love the way they draw arrows on limbs to make sure they get the right one."

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC1.
