BBC Breakfast presenter John Watson receives 'get well soon' messages after hospital stay

BBC Breakfast presenter John Watson has received lots of online support from fans after announcing that he's recovering from an injury in hospital.

The sports journalist shared an Instagram snap of a bandaged leg while lying in a hospital bed. The picture shows Watson sporting a hospital gown paired with a huge bandage on his knee.

John has injured his meniscus, damaging the cartilage between the bones in his knee. The painful injury usually occurs while playing sports, causing swelling and stiffness in the joint.

Despite the unfortunate incident, John has taken things in his stride. As reported by the Mirror, he captioned wrote alongside the image: "Less of a dash more of a hop to the studio come Monday."

Shortly after posting, the comments section filled up with well wishes, with colleague Jon Kay penning a funny get well soon message. He wrote: "Take care, John. I’ve got a glittery sock for the other foot if you need it."

"Oh my, get well soon John , I did that, slow recovery, but one step at a time n all sorted," a third commented.
