BBC Breakfast fans are convinced that Carol Kirkwood has gotten married in secret.
Carol is perhaps best known for presenting the weather on the BBC morning programme, but viewers were quick to notice her supposed ‘change of rings’, believing that wedding bells must have been in order for the weather reporter.
Back in May this year, the 60-year-old confirmed her engagement to her partner Steve on the show after he proposed whilst they were on a picnic.
Confirming the happy news at the time, Carol said: "Yes, I got engaged. We got engaged when we were on holiday.
"So it's lovely news and we're both thrilled, so thank you!"
Jon Kay, a fellow presenter on the show said in response to her engagement: "We're all thrilled. We're all so chuffed for you Carol, on behalf of all the team here and everybody watching, I'm sure. Absolutely delighted."
She told viewers at the time that she ‘wasn’t rushing’ into her wedding day, but nonetheless, fans are convinced that she may have already tied the knot with Steve.
Viewers of the programme this morning flocked to twitter, asking the weather expert: “Morning Carol, have you got married in secret?”
"I noticed another ring on your finger this morning, have a great Christmas xx,” another penned, while someone else said: "I think I see it, it looks more sparkly/bigger than her engagement ring if I'm correct? Either way, congrats Carol!"
A third watcher then asked: "Am I seeing things or has Carol switched rings on #BBCBreakfast?"
She recently spilled all about her proposal, telling Hello! Magazine that she initially thought her partner was joking when he got down on one knee.
Speaking about the proposal, Carol said: "It was a lovely, sunny day and we had taken a picnic with us, and we were sitting by the river, watching the boats going by.
"I turned to say: 'What's wrong?' He was on his knee, and he proposed. At first, I thought he was joking, but he said: 'No no, I really do mean it, Will you marry me?'
“I said: 'Yes!! Of course!'"
Her partner even chose the ring, and got the size of the jewellery correct first-time.
"My other half, Steve, chose it [the ring] himself. I was very impressed – and he got the size right.
"It's what they call a halo ring with a central diamond and then diamonds around it. It is gorgeous."
The Mirror has contacted a representative of Carol for a comment on the claims.
