BBC airs Found under the Floor documentary about Bennylyn Burke's murder

Bennylyn Burke and her two-year-old daughter were killed by a calculating killer who showed no remorse after being caught by police.

Their tragic story has now been explored by a BBC documentary, which shows how the 25-year-old was groomed by Andrew Innes, 52, before he lured her out of sheltered accommodation near Bristol to his home in Dundee.

Bennylyn moved here from her home in the Philippines after marrying a man from the UK. Sadly, their relationship fell apart and she entered sheltered living in Kingswood.

Footage during the 30-minute documentary shows Bennylyn with her daughter, Jellica, dancing in Bristol city centre and having fun at Grimsby Farm.

Bennylyn first met Innes online, and officers later uncovered that he had set his account set up specifically to find young mums with children. He offered Bennylyn a well-paid job if she came to Scotland, but she refused.

Then he turned up at her home after driving over 400 miles during lockdown. She felt sorry for him having to sleep in his car because he could not go to hotel, so she eventually agreed to go back to his home in Dundee for the weekend.

Her sister, Shela Aquino, told the documentary: "She was kind. I don't know anyone who was Bennylyn's enemy.

"My sister had a lot of best friends here, many friends."

Tragically, police found Bennylyn's body hidden in big bags under the kitchen floor. She had been stabbed and beaten to death with a hammer.

Her dad Benedicto Aquino said: "I was in shock about what happened. My daughter doesn't pick fights. She was kind. Why do this to her? When I found out my granddaughter was murdered too, it caused such heartache. He murdered an innocent child. Even here in the Philippines, it's rare that happens."

Detective Graham Smith described Innes as 'very cold and callous and not remorseful in any way'. He said: "Personally, this is one of the most harrowing and sobering inquiries that I've ever been involved in."

Innes has now been jailed for 36 years for the horrific double murders.
