
The BBC has paid Diana, Princess of Wales's private secretary, Patrick Jephson, a "substantial sum" in damages and apologised unreservedly for the "harm caused to him" over Martin Bashir's 1995 Panorama interview.
Lord Dyson, a former master of the rolls and head of civil justice, was appointed to look into the circumstances surrounding the explosive interview, which famously featured Diana saying: "Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded."
