Leroy Sane held his hands up for squandering a great early chance as his Bayern Munich side were knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester City.
Bayern welcomed City to the Allianz Arena knowing they had a mountain to climb to progress to the semi-finals, with the Blues winning 3-0 in the first leg at the Etihad last week. Home supporters were defiantly optimistic in the build up and saw their side come flying out of the blocks.
City struggled to get to grips with the pace of Bayern, and Thomas Tuchel's side had their first major chance on 17 minutes when Sane raced through on goal, only to see his chipped effort drift over Ederson and wide of his left-hand post.
RATINGS: Dias and Rodri immense vs Bayern
"It was a good game from us, a really good, strong game, but I have to score - I definitely have to score," Sane told BT Sport. "If I score first, the one-nil, I think Man City had a lot of pressure but it is tough because we lose the first game away three-nil, which shouldn’t have happened.
"Today we could have done a lot, that’s why I’m saying it’s tough for me too especially, I had a big chance. I think we had them really good under control, won lots of balls in midfield and if I would have scored I would like to know how the game went.
"I know [City] quite well, I know how strong they are at home but if you concede three goals away in the first leg it’s tough. Especially with them, they’re really experienced and know how to control the game, that’s why it’s really annoying how it went, especially how we played today. The team played really good, I’m proud of that, we just have to keep up the spirit and focus on the league now."
After that early wobble, City regrouped and progressed with relative ease in the end. The Blues are favourites to win a first Champions League trophy and face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
"Yes they do [look incredible], everyone knows how I like them and like how they play," Sane added. "Congrats to them."
