Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa was left incensed over a red card shown to Eduardo Camavinga in the late stages of the Champions League quarter-final tie defeat to Bayern Munich.
With Real ahead late in the second half and the score 4-4 on aggregate after a breathless first, it looked to be heading towards extra time. But substitute Camavinga was given a second booking for kicking the ball away and delaying a Bayern free-kick, with his moment of madness turning the tie on its head.
The aggregate score was level at 3-3 when Camavinga was shown a second yellow card for time-wasting following a tackle he made on Bayern striker Harry Kane. Following the adjudged foul, Camavinga picked up the ball and threw it away forcing the referee to book him. It was the midfielder’s second offence in the match and sent Real down to 10-men.
“It’s unbelievable to send off a player for this action,” Arbeloa said. “It’s not possible in a player like that, match like that. We feel really upset, really angry, really disappointed. We feel all of this is a bit unfair.”

Kane: 'This is the time to push on'
02:30 , Flo CliffordKane says this is a confidence boost but the team will have to refocus rapidly. “When you beat a team like Real, especially in the later stages of the Champions League, it will give you confidence. But we have spoken about this all year, being at this stage being in all the competitions and this is the time to push on.
“We feel we can beat anyone when at our highest level and we'll need that in the next round because PSG are one of the best teams in Europe. We have a chance to win the league this weekend so hopefully we can get that done and we have a big semi-final in the cup. Plenty of big games plenty to play for.”
Kane: 50 goals 'a reward'
01:02 , Flo CliffordKane elaborates a bit more on his 50th goal milestone. “I feel amazing. It was tough, Madrid have a special connection to this competition. Obviously we got off to the worst start possible, but we got stronger as the game went on – I think we were better physically. I think scoring 50 goals is a reward for the way I’m playing but I just want to help the team in any way I can, goals, assists, whatever. We look forward to the semi-final.”

Michael Olise: 'Momentum' with Bayern even before Real red
Wednesday 15 April 2026 23:15 , Flo CliffordMichael Olise tells TNT Sports: “"Good match, back and forth. We knew they would come and try to come back. At first it was a bit like goal, goal, goal but eventually when it calmed down we played a bit better in the second half and we took our chances.
“We showed good resilience to keep coming back. In the end it was a result we're happy with.
“The red card was late. We had built momentum before that, the game was going our way. Maybe it helped a bit but the game was still going how it was going.

Bayern Munich beat Real Madrid
Wednesday 15 April 2026 22:15 , Flo CliffordReal are reportedly still protesting in the tunnel, in very unedifying scenes. Camavinga’s red card - for delaying the restart - was daft but it was a clear second yellow. Nothing to protest there.

Wednesday 15 April 2026 22:03 , Flo CliffordBayern celebrate with the home faithful. A huge, huge win.
It seems the substituted Arda Guler was handed a red for the protestations after Olise’s late winner. Lots more Real complaints incoming, I think it’s fair to expect.
FULL-TIME: Bayern Munich 4-3 Real Madrid (6-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:58 , Flo CliffordThat goal by Olise was a beauty, cutting inside on his left foot and letting fly from 22 yards out, cannoning off the woodward and into the goal.
And it’s the winner on the night!
FULL-TIME: Bayern Munich 4-3 Real Madrid (6-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:57 , Flo Clifford‘90+4: That is literally the last action of the game. Full-time in Munich and a famous win for Bayern!
Real Madrid are dumped out of the Champions League!
GOAL! Bayern Munich 4-3 Real Madrid (6-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:57 , Flo Clifford‘90+4: Bayern win on aggregate and win on the night! The Bayern fans are in dreamland. Poor Lunin sits on the floor in exhaustion.
It’s Olise with the last kick of the game!
Real are complaining about the ref blowing the whistle immediately afterwards. Bellingham is having to be restrained from screaming at the officials, not a good look.
Bayern Munich 3-3 Real Madrid (5-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:55 , Flo Clifford‘90+4: 30 seconds left.

Bayern Munich 3-3 Real Madrid (5-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:54 , Flo Clifford‘90+3: Diaz bends a sweet ball towards Olise some 25 yards out... it’s a bit too high and Olise falls to ground in frustration.
Bayern Munich 3-3 Real Madrid (5-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:54 , Flo Clifford‘90+2: Alexander-Arnold and Guler come off for Mastantuono and Pitarch. One last roll of the dice.
Bayern Munich 3-3 Real Madrid (5-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:52 , Flo Clifford‘90: Two minutes and 37 seconds between Camavinga’s red card and Diaz’s goal. Possibly the winner.
Four minutes added on!
GOAL! Bayern Munich 3-3 Real Madrid (5-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:51 , Flo Clifford‘89: Luis Diaz scored the first goal of this entire tie and he may have just scored the winner!
He plays a sweet one-two with Musiala, who plays a sweet backheel to him, then cuts inside onto his right foot, and lets fly into the right corner! It looks like it took a deflection off a Real player on the way.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:49 , Flo Clifford‘88: Oh my word, Camavinga brings down Kane but it looks like he isn’t actually given a yellow for that - is it for picking up the ball shortly after?! Not too sure.
Now Laimer tries to round Vini Jr, who goes to ground theatrically and wins a free kick.
RED CARD! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:48 , Flo Clifford‘86: Well, well, well! Camavinga is already on a yellow and he’s only been on the pitch for 24 minutes before getting another!
Real Madrid down to 10 with extra time looming!
CLOSE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:47 , Flo Clifford‘85: Bayern have yet another chance to get back in front! Kane lets fly and it bounces off Camavinga; Musiala is in space just behind him but Rudiger makes an excellent clearance, sticking his boot out with Lunin stranded.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:45 , Flo Clifford‘83: Upamecano makes a mistake and a heavy touch and Vini Jr latches on to and gets away from him! He recovers pretty quickly though and that’s a sigh of relief for Bayern.
Into the final ten minutes of regulation time. This could still go any way.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:43 , Flo Clifford‘83: Laimer bends a ball towards the far post, looking for Diaz. Militao battles him for the ball and hits the deck.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:40 , Flo Clifford‘79: Camavinga spots the danger from Musiala and just hauls him down. Cynical. The 23-year-old has been battered a bit since coming on.
Bayern have a free-kick in the middle of the park. They work it to Kane, was there a foul in the build-up? Mbappe is down on the ground. Kane runs into traffic anyway.
Mbappe just slipped, actually, with Kimmich getting in a bit of a tangle in the process.
CLOSE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:38 , Flo Clifford‘77: Bayern are having a bit of a spell of sustained possession. Laimer keeps it in by the byline. Kane floats it to Olise down the right, he travels with it into the centre, and bends it over the bar! Not by much, though.
HITS THE POST! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:36 , Flo Clifford‘74: Ooh, Rudiger shoves Laimer over and the ref has a decision to make with the Real man on a yellow... he gets a reprieve. You’ve seen yellows given for less!
Olise bends in the free-kick, Upamecano really should score with the free header at the near post, and he’s absolutely furious with himself as it cannons off the upright.
CHANCE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:33 , Flo Clifford‘72: Mbappe dances down the left and fizzes a great ball across to Vini Jr, mere yards from goal, but he misses it! That’s the second sitter he’s missed in about ten minutes.
Bayern break, Diaz is the danger man, but Rudiger cuts it out.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:32 , Flo Clifford‘70: Drama as Guler hits the deck after giving the ball away. He drags down Musiala and then flings himself on the floor too. Bayern try to keep it moving. Rudiger gets a yellow, presumably for arguing with the ref.

SAVE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:30 , Flo Clifford‘68: Bayern have numbers in the box. Olise sends a lovely shot bending towards the roof of the net... Lunin gets his fingertips to it but it looked like it was heading just over the bar anyway.
SAVE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:28 , Flo Clifford‘66: The in-form Valverde takes it on his left foot on the edge of the box and fires a diagonal shot across goal - but Neuer is alert and dives to save.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:27 , Flo Clifford‘65: Kimmich looks for Davies but puts too much heft on it and Lunin falls on the ball with relief. Bayern are just a bit profligate with these chances.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:25 , Flo Clifford‘63: Real break through Vini Jr and Bayern yet again are caught out. Upamecano is the quickest back to him and Vini Jr wastes his chance with a tame effort miles wide.
CHANCE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:24 , Flo Clifford‘63: Musiala has an immediate impact, threading the ball through to Diaz - but Diaz has it pinched off his toes by former Liverpool teammate Alexander-Arnold, running back at full tilt with Lunin stranded!
That is a superb bit of defending. Is Thomas Tuchel watching?
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:23 , Flo Clifford‘60: Alexander-Arnold bends in a corner after Mbappe loses Tah. Militao and Bellingham are there for the header - but Neuer collects without too much trouble.
Bayern make another change: Musiala is on for Gnabry.
Real make their first: Brahim Diaz comes off for Camavinga.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:19 , Flo Clifford‘56: That was a superb ball from Alexander-Arnold to Mbappe from 60 yards away down the right flank, with Mbappe making no hesitation on the volley - but Neuer was there with an immaculate save.
Now Olise looks for Kane in the box, but Militao heads away.
SAVE! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:16 , Flo Clifford‘55: Real play a long ball forward to Mbappe, who cleverly knocks it out of play off Davies’ knee. It’s a first corner of the game to Madrid.
It’s worked to Rudiger, but a Bayern shirt punts it clear... Real come again, Mbappe shoots from yards away but Neuer makes a superb save!
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:15 , Flo Clifford‘53: It’s been a comparatively sedate start to this half. Pavlovic has his foot clipped by Bellingham and draws the foul. Militao brings down Kane, who is back up quickly, and somehow Kane is penalised for Militao’s theatrics. Kane and Kompany are both furious.
Vini Jr was sprinting away even as it happened, so even is teammates think it’s nonsense.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:12 , Flo Clifford‘50: Fans are still streaming in with their pints. Not the sort of game you want to bimble in late for.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:09 , Flo Clifford‘47: Lunin is completely boxed in again, Upamecano gets a free header from two yards out but over the bar.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:08 , Flo Clifford‘47: Early pressure by Bayern, trying to get the ball to Kane in the box. Diaz darts in and releases a low shot... it takes a deflection. Time for another Bayern corner!
The ref has a stern word with Kane and Mendy, who are grappling.
SECOND HALF: Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:07 , Flo Clifford‘45: Here we go again!
Real lead 3-2 on the night, it’s 4-4 on aggregate.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:06 , Flo CliffordThere’s been a lot of errors in this game but also some brilliance. Real had three shots on target in that half and three goals.
What’s been particularly apparent from this half is how much better Real’s team selection has been this leg. They were passive and dominated last week, with Carreras bullied by Olise, but Militao and Mendy have been significantly stronger in defence, Olise has been kept quiet, and Bellingham has brought his usual physicality.
One change at half-time: Davies comes on for Stanisic, who was clattered in the build-up to Mbappe’s goal.
Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 21:00 , Flo CliffordLet’s recap that half... Arda Guler enjoyed the best 30 minutes of his career to date, slotting home inside the first 45 seconds after a superb interception from a Manuel Neuer backpass.
That set the tone for a frenzied half as Aleksandar Pavlovic equalised with a header from a corner a mere six minutes later, before Guler bent a sensational free-kick past Neuer shortly before the half-hour mark.
Kane came to the rescue once more with a close-range strike as Real’s defence were caught out, but the shoe was on the other foot only a couple of minutes later as Kylian Mbappe - who pulled one back in the first leg - poked a fifth goal of the 45 past Neuer.
Neither side has been defensively brilliant, with Bayern opting for their usual very high line and Real fielding a very attacking side. With inevitable consequences.
HT Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:54 , Mike JonesIt’s been a thrilling first 45 minutes and this Champions League quarter-final is all square at the break. Who will win it from here?

HALF-TIME: Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:50 , Flo Clifford‘45+2: So that goal: Vini Jr played a sweet short ball to Mbappe, with the Frenchman making no mistake from yards out. Stanisic was brought down at some point in the build-up and Bayern were fuming at play being allowed to continue, which is presumably why Kompany saw yellow.
Now Laimer makes a mistake and Real are in acres of space again, and the half-time whistle can’t come soon enough for the hosts. Neuer makes a save, but I can’t tell you who from, because straight away they’re off again...
Two minutes added on. We get to the half-time whistle. And breathe.
GOAL! Bayern Munich 2-3 Real Madrid (4-4 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:46 , Flo Clifford‘43: As you were... Real counter at pace. Bayern’s high line is again caught out. Mbappe is mere yards out and pokes it home past a sprawling Neuer.
Kompany gets a yellow for something or other and will miss the next match.
OFF THE BAR! Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid (4-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:44 , Flo Clifford‘41: This game is the gift that keeps on giving. Brahim Diaz chips a beautiful high ball to Vini Jr, on the left flank. He controls it and fires high and just clips the bar! Neuer was diving but was never going to get there.
Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid (4-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:43 , Flo Clifford‘41: Alexander-Arnold, on the right flank, tries to find Mbappe, but sends a fizzing cross behind him.
Militao gets a yellow for hauling down Kane. He has the nerve to look miffed at that.
That was Kane’s 50th goal of the season. Made it look easy.
Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid (4-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:41 , Flo Clifford‘39: It’s a great ball in by Upamecano, who floats it between Alexander-Arnold and Militao; Kane, in the middle of the box, takes a touch and blasts a low strike into the bottom right corner!
Kane points at Upamecano in appreciation.
GOAL! Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid (4-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:40 , Flo Clifford‘38: As you were...
It’s Kane, who else, who gets the fourth goal of the night. Bayern ahead again!
Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid (3-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:39 , Flo Clifford‘37: Mbappe tries to take on Upamecano, Bellingham is in space on the edge of the box... Bayern have enough numbers back to cover.
Back down the other end: Guler loses Laimer, who goes down wanting a penalty. That’s ignored, but now Stanisic blasts a fine attempt at goal - Lunin palms away - was there handball against Mendy?
Referee says it was too high up the arm. Hmm.
Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid (3-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:37 , Flo Clifford‘35: Bayern try to work the ball to Kane but Militao puts in another great defensive header and momentum is firmly with the visitors. Bellingham releases Brahim Diaz and Real break again at speed... Neuer comes out to clear.
Now Gnabry has an attempt on goal... not enough on it and Lunin gathers with relief.

Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid (3-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:32 , Flo Clifford‘30: Neuer gets a hand to it but it’s already crossed the goalline and he can only punch it against the side of the goal.
Real lead on the night and are level on aggregate!
GOAL! Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid (3-3 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:31 , Flo Clifford‘29: It’s an absolutely sensational free-kick! Guler stands over it and bends a beautiful shot past Neuer!
Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:30 , Flo Clifford‘28: Militao heads away Kimmich’s next delivery and Real break! Vini Jr fires towards the top corner... and Neuer thumps it away! But Real come again and Laimer leaves a bit too much on Brahim Diaz, conceding a free kick in a very dangerous spot.
Kompany is furious on the touchline.
SAVE! Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:29 , Flo Clifford‘27: The delivery is slightly high and Upamecano gets a foot to it but it’s very awkward, and Valverde manages to get it in the vague direction of Lunin, who eventually collects. Lunin looks terrified.
He does well now though to get his palms down low to his right to save a fierce effort from Kimmich.
Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:28 , Flo Clifford‘26: Olise jinks and jives to the edge of the area and lets fly, but Mendy - who has been strong so far - makes the block and it deflects for yet another Bayern corner.
Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:27 , Flo Clifford‘25: Militao clears the danger.
Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:26 , Flo Clifford‘24: End to end! Mendy tries to get the ball away in the box, he goes down under pressure from Tah, who has his arms around him... but the ref, who has a pretty clear view, says no penalty.
Olise and Kane try to make a move stick down the other end but it goes out for a Kimmich corner... and now another one.
Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
Wednesday 15 April 2026 20:23 , Flo Clifford‘21: Upamecano gets back in time and sticks out a foot to deny the onrushing Vini Jr. Great challenge. This is anyone’s game!
CLOSE! Bayern Munich 1-1 Real Madrid (3-2 agg.)
