Bayern Munich appear set to take a significant step towards signing Liverpool ’s Sadio Mane having kicked-off a summer fire sale at the Allianz Arena.
The Bundesliga champions are interested in striking a deal for the Senegalese winger in the current window with Mane himself having expressed his desire to leave Anfield for a fresh challenge. Bayern have so far lodged two offers with the Reds - both of which having been rejected.
It has been reported that the Merseyside outfit are hoping to receive around £40million for the former Southampton star and are hopeful of Bayern eventually agreeing to pay that fee. The German side already appear to have plans in place to raise the funds required to take Mane to the Allianz Arena in the near future.
It was previously suggested that up to eight players could be set to leave the club this summer, including a vast array of first-team stars. One already seems close to departing Bayern as their summer exodus kicks-off.
Spanish outlet Marca have reported that Marc Roca is close to signing for Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Leeds. It is suggested that a fee between €13million and €15million (£11.1m-£12.8m) will see the 25-year-old complete a switch to Elland Road as Jesse Marsch continues his summer spending with the Yorkshire outfit.
The former Espanyol man only arrived in Germany in the summer of 2020 but has only gone on to make 24 appearances for Bayern in the two seasons since - only 10 of those being starts. Of course, Roca’s departure will likely not see the Bundesliga giants be able to assemble a package to tempt Mane to the Allianz Arena but it is certainly a sign of intent from Bayern ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer in terms of incomings and outgoings.

The likes of Marcel Sabitzer, Omar Richards and Joshua Zirkzee are all on a list of players who could potentially leave over the coming months. There also remains questions over the future of Robert Lewandowski. Like Mane, the Polish forward has expressed his desire for a new challenge ahead of next season.
Barcelona continue to be linked with a move for the striker this summer, although an agreement between the Catalans and Bayern is not yet forthcoming. Amid that hesitancy from both parties, Manchester United have entered the race for the 33-year-old and could be set to replicate the move that saw Cristiano Ronaldo complete an emotional return to Old Trafford last summer.
Elsewhere, Liverpool already appear to have found their replacement for Mane should he complete a switch to Bayern over the coming months. Reports have suggested that the Reds have agreed a deal to sign Benfica hotshot Darwin Nunez for €80million (£68.3m), with a further €20million in add-ons included in the deal.
