Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich slams Arsenal tactics after Champions League defeat

Joshua Kimmich has said Arsenal are not the toughest team Bayern Munich have faced this season, hitting out at their tactics in the process.

Jurrien Timber opened the scoring for the Gunners on Wednesday night, heading home Bukayo Saka’s corner before the visitors equalised through youngster Lennart Karl.

Second half goals from Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli ultimately sealed an impressive victory for Arsenal who are now three points clear at the top of the Champions League table.

Bayern have slipped down to third as a result of suffering their first defeat of the season and Kimmich has expressed an unhappiness with Arsenal’s tactics, saying they relied on set-pieces and long balls.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Kimmich aimed a subtle dig at the Gunners when explaining the comparison to Paris Saint-Germain.

"No, I don't think so. I think PSG was the toughest one,” the Germany international said. “Especially the way they play.

"Arsenal is completely different. They rely on set pieces. They love to play long balls. They love to fight for second balls.

“It was a completely different game against PSG. It was more of a football game.

"Today was not so much about football. It was more about game management and duels. Arsenal did this really well tonight. Their win was well deserved but we have to learn from this game."
