Phillip Lahm has given Bayern Munich the green light to sign Harry Kane as the German outfit look to finally replace Robert Lewandowski. The Tottenham striker faces an increasingly uncertain future at Tottenham with just 16 months remaining on his contract.
With Kane yet to commit his long-term future to the north London outfit, a number of top European sides are said to be keeping tabs on his situation. Prior to Fabio Paratici's ban, football.london understands that the Spurs director had been in contact with the 29-year-old's entourage to discuss an extension but formal discussions have not yet begun.
It's also understood that Kane is open to discussing fresh terms but, following the departure of Antonio Conte, he may well have since changed his mind — time will tell. In the meantime, Lahm has encouraged the Bundesliga champions to welcome Kane to the Allianz Arena.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the former Bayern defender said: "Harry Kane is a game-changing centre-forward, a clear No. 9 but also with technical skills. He is a very good striker.
"I think he would really be an outstanding fit for Bayern Munich. For this position, Bayern has always had very good international strikers like Robert Lewandowski, so we will see. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen."
Lahm was also quizzed on whether or not it was a surprise that Julian Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern. The German boss has been heavily linked with replacing Conte as Tottenham head coach recently.
The 39-year-old said: "For me, it was a surprise because it was only 18 to 20 months ago that Munich gave him a five-year contract. They believed in him. He is a very promising young coach.
"But also for Bayern Munich their decision is always strong because they want to win and if they see something goes wrong, they act. It is not easy for me to speak about the work that he was doing from the outside. But the time was too short, I think.
"For a coach to develop something in the club, it was too short. The top coaches need time. If I look at Pep [Guardiola] or to [Jurgen] Klopp at Liverpool, he needed time. More than 10, 12, 15 months."
