Niklas Sule’s agent has confirmed that the defender has already decided on his next club, amid links with a transfer to Chelsea in the summer.
The 26-year-old is a free agent in the summer, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season and an extension highly unlikely.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with the Blues reportedly eyeing a number of centre-back options for when the transfer window reopens.
Chelsea are set to lose a number of defenders themselves when contracts expire, leaving Thomas Tuchel potentially light at the back.
Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are all free to leave the club in the summer if they don’t extend their contracts, while Malang Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah represent the only longer-term options at the back.
A number of defenders have been linked with the Blues, including summer transfer target Jules Kounde, Attila Szalai and Sule.
Sule looks all set to leave the Bavarian club this summer, with his agent saying to Sport1, per Fabrizio Romano: “The new club has already been decided. Niklas has made a decision and I would be surprised if he changed his mind.”
Romano then confirmed that the 26-year-old will definitely leave Bayern Munich as a free agent in the summer.
The potential deal for Chelsea could save them millions in the market, especially if they lose their own defenders on free transfers.
Although, should it not be the Blues that Sule wishes to move to next, it seems as though it could be tough to persuade him to join.
