Bayern Munich £100m transfer decision set to spark Man Utd and Chelsea battle for Victor Osimhen

Bayern Munich look set to start a domino effect that will impact Chelsea's transfer business this summer. The Blues are looking to overhaul their squad ahead of next season with a new manager still yet to be appointed after Graham Potter was sacked last month.

Todd Boehly has spent over £500million on new signings in the last two transfer windows - creating an inflated squad that will need addressing this summer. A number of senior players are set to be sold, which may easier said than done, whilst more new faces are expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

One of those new faces could be Victor Osimhen. The Napoli star has scored 27 goals in 34 appearances this term - helping Luciano Spaletti's side win their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern have all been linked with a move for the 24-year-old with Napoli demanding a £130million fee to allow him to leave the club. Following the Italian outfit's title success, Osimhen addressed speculation surrounding his future with Spaletti's side, saying: "It’s not the right time to discuss my future.

"I just want to enjoy this incredible title. I can’t wait to return to Napoli and hug the fans - I’m so happy for them."

Bayern have seemingly changed their focus in the transfer market and are now pursuing a £100million deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani. A report from The Independent states that the German giants believe they have everything in place to secure the Frenchman's signature - which could see United go head-to-head with Chelsea over a deal for Osimhen.

Erik ten Hag's side have identified Harry Kane, Osimhen and Kolo Muani as their top targets this summer as the Dutchman looks to add a new striker to his squad ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. United mutually agreed to terminate Cristiano Ronaldo's contract at Old Trafford before the World Cup and are now searching for a world-class replacement to help Marcus Rashford in attack.

With Kolo Muani now likely to sign for Bayern, United and Chelsea look to be involved in a race to sign Osimhen or Kane. Both strikers will cost a huge transfer fee and demand a significant wage package - but both clubs are in desperate need of a quality new No.9.

The report adds that United have listed Lautaro Martinez and Rasmus Hojlund as cheaper alternatives to Osimhen and Kane. Chelsea will welcome back Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge this summer as his loan spell at Inter Milan ends, but his future at the Blues remains uncertain with a new manager still yet to be appointed.
