'Battlefield 6' Season 4 Update: Pacific Front Update Brings Naval Warfare, Two-Seater Jets, More

"Battlefield 6" is set to receive one of its biggest updates yet with Update 1.4.1.0, launching on July 21 alongside Season 4: Pacific Front. The new season introduces large-scale naval warfare, new vehicles, weapons, maps, and the long-awaited return of a classic Battlefield feature that fans have been requesting for years.

Adding to the excitement, EA has also teased what appears to be a Top Gun collaboration, fueling speculation about exclusive themed content arriving later in the season.

Two-Seater Jets Return to Battlefield

One of the biggest highlights of "Battlefield 6" Season 4 is the return of two-seater fixed-wing jets.

According to Eurogamer, this aircraft type has not appeared in the series since Battlefield 2, which launched in 2005. What's more, their reintroduction is expected to bring back cooperative aerial combat, allowing one player to pilot the aircraft while another operates its weapons.

Although EA has yet to reveal the full gameplay mechanics, the aircraft briefly appeared in the official Season 4 trailer, strongly suggesting that coordinated air combat will once again become a key part of Battlefield's large-scale battles.

For longtime fans, the return of two-seat jets is one of the most anticipated additions in years.

Naval Warfare Expands the Battlefield Experience

Season 4 places a strong emphasis on naval combat, introducing a new battlefield called Tsuru Reef.

Set across a Pacific island chain, the map features combat on land, sea, and air, giving players multiple ways to approach objectives. The update also introduces a dynamic wave system, causing boats to rise and fall with changing ocean conditions.

This new mechanic affects visibility, firing angles, and movement, adding another layer of strategy to naval engagements while making each battle feel more dynamic.

Wake Island Returns With New Vehicles and Weapons

Another major addition is the return of Wake Island, one of the most iconic maps in Battlefield history.

While it won't be available when Season 4 launches, EA has confirmed that the fan-favorite battlefield will arrive in a future update.

The update also expands the game's vehicle roster with two new watercraft:

  • RCV-90 Patrol Boat, a four-seat combat vessel built for coordinated team assaults.
  • 7.7m NSW RHIB, a high-speed inflatable attack boat equipped with a mounted machine gun.

Players will also gain access to several new weapons, including the BROD 3, EF88, and VSMM, along with additional attachments that offer greater customization and tactical flexibility.

Top Gun Teaser Fuels Fan Speculation

According to GameSpot, the Season 4 reveal trailer concludes with several references that immediately caught players' attention.

EA incorporated Harold Faltermeyer's iconic Top Gun music alongside aviation-themed visuals, leading many fans to speculate that a Top Gun crossover event may be on the way.

Although EA has not officially confirmed a collaboration, the teaser has generated significant excitement within the Battlefield community, with players hoping for themed cosmetics, limited-time events, or special aircraft skins.
