Battlefield 6’s patch update 1.1.3.0, Winter Offensive, arrived Dec. 9, and it brought along new content with major fixes and gameplay rebalancing.
The update mostly focused on audio clarity, mode flow improvements, hit registration fixes, and soldier visibility tweaks to sharpen core combat. Rush and Breakthrough modes saw structural updates to improve attacker momentum and objective balance, while weapons and vehicles received targeted tuning for consistency across fights.
REDSEC also got some changes, particularly tanks, to address community concerns. Alongside these gameplay refinements, DICE continues optimizing server performance and investigating netcode synchronization issues. With that said, here’s everything you need to know about the Battlefield 6 patch 1.1.3.0.

Winter Offensive content
The headline addition in this patch is Winter Offensive, a time-limited event that dropped a frozen reskin of Empire State under the name Ice Lock Empire State. This version of the map brought snow-covered streets, seasonal lighting, and an event-specific Freeze mechanic across Domination, Conquest, and Gauntlet modes.

Alongside the map, there is a dedicated Winter Offensive Bonus Path on the Battle Pass, featuring 11 tiers of event cosmetics, XP boosters, and the new Ice Climbing Axe melee weapon as the main unlock.
Ice Lock Empire State is also playable in supported Portal experiences during the event window, letting creators build custom modes that lean into the winter theme and Freeze gimmicks.
Core gameplay changes
On the soldier side, the 1.1.3.0 update cleaned up a wide range of movement, animation, and damage-handling issues that previously led to inconsistent results in firefights. Problems like fall damage triggering at the wrong time after revives, players staying in control after dying in water, or getting stuck when entering water while crouched have all been addressed.
Vaulting, ladder use, and melee interactions also saw a noticeable polish pass, with misaligned hand positions, clipping, and broken animations being fixed so transitions feel smoother in both first and third person.
Hit registration has been tightened when multiple players are clustered together or when aiming rapidly, while recoil now interacts more reliably with your input.
Maps, modes, and progression
Across the map pool, capture zones and out-of-bounds regions have been adjusted on key locations like Empire State, Manhattan Bridge, and Liberation Peak. Breakthrough sees extensive sector-by-sector tuning to attacker and defender vehicles, capture volumes, and M-COM placement.
Battle Pickups now spawn more predictably in Breakthrough, Conquest, and Escalation, tying their availability to sector activation and point ownership. Other objective-related bugs, such as deaths not tracking correctly in Strikepoint or cranes on Mirak Valley not properly crediting kills when destroyed, have been resolved.
Audio and performance enhancements
Patch 1.1.3.0 delivered a full rework of in-game sound design that will emphasize better spatial clarity across firefights and vehicle encounters. Footstep audio has been refined for sharper directional accuracy, helping you track enemy movement in open spaces better.
The update also addressed sporadic sound loss on large maps, which was an issue tied to memory use and performance drops.

Rush and Breakthrough rebalancing
Both Rush and Breakthrough modes receive targeted design improvements based on player data. Attackers will now benefit from improved vehicle access and adjusted capture zones to sustain offensive pressure.
Siege of Cairo introduced additional tanks in early and mid sectors, while Manhattan Bridge and Liberation Peak feature relocated M-COM points.
Core combat and hit reg fixes
A key part of this update enhanced hit registration reliability during chaotic firefights. Bullet trajectory alignment has been tuned for better accuracy during rapid ADS (aim down sight) transitions, especially in close combat.
Patch 1.1.3.0 also fixed desync issues where destructible cover appeared intact on some clients, eliminating inconsistencies where bullets seemed to pass through solid objects. Damage feedback has been improved for faster visibility of hits and health changes mid-fight.

Soldier visibility and environmental clarity
Visibility in darker areas saw major improvement, with refined lighting responses and subtle animation updates for prone soldiers. The improved contrast should reduce confusion during indoor versus outdoor transitions, making targets easier to identify without changing Battlefield’s signature visual realism.
DICE confirmed that larger environmental readability upgrades are already in progress for future builds.
Weapon tuning and gadget tweaks
Weapons across multiple categories have undergone stability fixes to improve recoil control and first-shot accuracy.
Attachment behaviors have been normalized to ensure predictable weapon response, and dispersion data from past patches continues to be closely monitored.

Gadgets such as Assault Ladders and Throwing Knives also saw targeted improvements. Ladders now allow smoother sprint traversal thanks to a higher ramp angle, and knife dispersion has been tightened so headshots are actually reliable within reasonable distances.
The LWCMS Portable Mortar and Supply Pouch received balance and behaviour tweaks that reshape how quickly they can be used and how they interact with Supply Crates, shifting them toward more deliberate, team-focused utility.
The devs plan further tuning based on live feedback as the weapon meta evolves through the winter season.
REDSEC changes
Community feedback around REDSEC armor and tank dominance is directly addressed in this patch. Tank mission frequency has been lowered to balance vehicle-heavy engagements, and DICE will monitor backend analytics for potential follow-up adjustments.
Edge-case issues like Second Chance respawns appearing thousands of metres in the air, odd sensitivity behaviour during helicopter insertion, and missing takedown prompts are resolved, making this mode feel more polished and less buggy during high-stakes moments.
Battle Royale and Gauntlet see targeted updates to loot placement, mission object behaviour, scoreboard sorting, and mission UI. Finally, Battlefield REDSEC Elite Series continues as a celebration of competitive play. For more details on the 1.1.3.0 update, you can check EA’s official patch notes post.
