A STAR of The Batman: Part II has sparked speculation he could be heading to Glasgow as filming for the blockbuster sequel continues across the city.
Jeffrey Wright, who plays Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon in the franchise, shared a cryptic social media post that has led fans to believe he may soon be joining the production in Scotland.
The actor posted a photograph taken from a plane window alongside music from The Batman soundtrack.
He captioned the image: "The city’s down there … waiting."
While Wright did not reveal his destination, the post quickly prompted speculation among fans that he could be travelling to Glasgow, where large-scale filming for The Batman: Part II is currently taking place.
The city has been transformed into Gotham in recent days, with parts of the Merchant City covered in artificial snow and decorated with American-style street furniture, including fire hydrants and US road signs.
Crowds of onlookers have gathered across Glasgow to watch filming, with production crews staging action sequences involving emergency vehicles, Gotham-themed props and the Batmobile.
The film is set to see Robert Pattinson return as Batman, while Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oz Cobb, formerly known as The Penguin.
Wright's social media post generated excitement among fans online.
One wrote: "That damn goat is already arriving at the battlefield"
Another added: "Bats and Gordon on set soon!"
Glasgow has become a familiar filming location for the Batman franchise, with scenes from the first film also shot in the city.
Speaking previously about Glasgow's role as Gotham, Robert Pattinson praised the city's architecture.
He said: "It’s not at all surprising to me that Glasgow has become a sort of unofficial Gotham City."
He added: "When you think of Gotham you think of a wonderfully Gothic city – and that’s why Glasgow works so well.
"The architecture in Glasgow is incredible – it has that real 19th century feel to it hence why it makes for a brilliant Gotham."
