If there’s one thing I really don’t enjoy thinking about when I travel, it’s cables and chargers. I’m lucky enough to travel fairly often as part of my job, but that also means packing a bundle of gadgets into my backpack.
From laptops and an iPad to handheld game consoles and headphones, it often feels like I spend more time fussing with having the right chargers and cables in my bag than I do anything else — but Baseus might just have the answer.
The company is offering a new series of charging accessories as part of its PicoGo ecosystem, and it could be just what I need to get myself out of carrying a mess of cables at the bottom of my backpack.
Baseus’ PicoGo charging ecosystem could be huge for travelling
I can’t be without my phone as a freelancer, and that means I constantly need it charged up and ready to go, but I’m always keen to find chargers that don’t take up a lot of room.
Thankfully, Baseus offers the PicoGo C1 charger that’s minuscule in size (54.2% smaller than its original model) but still offers 45W of power. That makes it a fast charger for your phone (particularly the latest iPhone 16 with its support for 45W charging), but it can also rapidly refill the cell on your laptop, Steam Deck, or just about anything else.
In fact, its PI (Power Integration) chip is sourced from the same manufacturer as Apple’s own offering, and it maintains a lower temperature while charging which makes it ideal for traveling since there’s no danger of it being thrown in your bag straight after charging something at the airport.
There’s also something to be said for having a Power Bank handy, and Baseus once again delivers with its PicoGo Power Bank.
I’ve used power banks for everything from playing Pokemon Go to trying to run an iPad on a plane, and the PicoGo’s 10,000mAh battery capacity means it’s an ideal companion for just about anything while being great for throwing in a bag pocket for when you need it.
It has the same 45W output as the C1 charger, meaning it can juice up a phone in 30 minutes or so, while having enough ports to charge multiple devices at once via 45W USB-C and 22.5W USB-A.
My favorite addition is the loop to keep it handy while you’re using your phone — I can’t count how many times I’ve had to awkwardly put a power bank in my pocket, but this means you can use your phone as normal.
The same can be said of the company’s PicoGo Magnetic Power Bank which can attach to your device. It actually helps mold the phone to a user’s hand in many respects, all while offering 5000mAh with 20W of output - another ideal travel companion. There’s a larger, 10,000mAh version, too, with 22.5W output.
Each of them charge via MagSafe, so if you’ve got them strapped to your iPhone you can charge using Qi2 charging.
The product I’m most excited about, however, is Baseus’ PicoGo W2 charger. This compact gadget has a flip-up Qi2 charge pad for your phone, as well as a cable you can pull out to hook it up to a laptop.
That means you can charge your phone and laptop with just one outlet, which is ideal for anyone who’s been to a hotel where they’re in short supply. The charging pad will also let you use the StandBy mode on compatible iPhone models, meaning you may find yourself getting more done at your destination with the extra screen and available widgets.
