Pop legend Barry Manilow says there is no chance of him slowing down or retiring as he turns 80 this year.
The singer was due to take this month off but revealed he and his band miss playing so much that he urged husband and manager Garry Kief to book shows.
As well as Las Vegas concerts, Manilow has a 57-date tour starting this week.
Asked about the prospect of retiring after a seven-decade career, the US star told fans he is only just beginning.
Manilow said: “I think of people who are 80... they look older than I do. They’re retired. You know, that ain’t me.
“I’m just gettin’ started. I’ve always got ‘the next one’.”
He will branch out by producing an album for saxophonist pal Dave Koz and will release the original cast album for his new musical Harmony, which is set to open on Broadway this year.
Manilow, who turns 80 in June, has had 24 albums in the UK top 40 as well as 13 platinum and six multi- platinum albums.
His hits include Could It Be Magic, Copacabana (At the Copa) and Mandy.
Manilow has been playing gigs in Vegas since 1988 and celebrated his 500th show there in 2019.
He said his new album of 12 pop songs will come out later this year and revealed his gigs outside of Sin City are more fun.
Manilow told the Charlotte Observer newspaper: “The evenings in Vegas, I’ve started to take it for granted.
“These audiences, you would really think they’d be a little jaded, and would much rather go back out into the casino. But they’ve been great.
“But when we do these tours, they are there to see me.”
Manilow secretly married Garry in 2014. He confirmed their 40-year relationship in 2017, saying: “I couldn’t be more proud to be a gay man.”
