Barry Keoghan has admitted he would love to become the new James Bond – or even play the baddie in a 007 movie.
Fresh off the back of Marvel’s smash hit Eternals, and currently starting in the new Batman movie, the Love/Hate star has his eyes on the prize for his next starring role.
Asked if that could be becoming the next Irish James Bond, he said: “Oh, yeah, yeah. Why not?”

It comes after the star sent fans wild with a series of topless photos on social media in recent weeks, saying: “Bond who?”
Speaking on the Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio One, the star referenced the picture, where he can be seen showing off his toned physique, and joked: “Did you see that picture?”
He added: “Ah look I was having a bit of craic, you know you just throw your hat in the ring for it and see what happens.
“But I am curious to see where they go upon.” Asked would he fancy his chances, the 29-year-old went on: “Even to play the villain. That would be quite cool. But maybe Bond actually you know what, maybe Bond.
“We will see, we will see what happens.”
Whilst he openly put his name in the running for Bond, he kept tight-lipped on his recent debut in The Batman, and what is to come from his character in the franchise.
Asked why he was at the premiere for the movie, the actor said: “I’m in it, you know I’m in it.
“I’m just going to cut this conversation now Ryan, yeah. I’m on the second last scene, go see it. It’s three hours long, it will be the best three hours of your life.”
The host went on to quip: “Do you know what you are, you’re a joker”.
After asking host Ryan to move on to avoid him getting into trouble for giving away any information, the Dubliner explained: “No, I mean you have to, it shows how professional you are, like I won’t comment I won’t say anything.
“You know you you want to keep that professionalism going forward. And for Marvel, DC and every other project.” The actor paired up with Colin Farrell last year as well for Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin with Brendan Gleeson.
Gushing about his time living with Farrell, Barry described the In Bruges star as a “big brother” to him and credited him for taking him under his wing.
He said: “I did live with him, you know Colin is like a big brother to me.
“Colin has always been there for me and he still is and I was with him there in New York and that man I could spend a whole hour talking about him I really mean that.”
Joking about their time living together, Colin previously told how Barry was “messy” but equally credited the budding star as “an extraordinary human being”.
Laughing it off, Barry added: “I did eat all of his Crunchy Nut.
“He loves his Crunchy Nut. And every day he came down and went, Where’s my Crunchy Nut?’.
“But no he was great to take me in and he wanted me to live with him so he could just look after me and he’s brilliant. He’s so insightful, I’ve learned a lot. And I keep learning from him, I really mean it.
“And not only as an actor but as a human being. He’s many talks with me and giving me so much advice.
“Yeah, he’s like a big brother. And nobody has to do that, you know I’m 29 and no one has to do that. But he does because he genuinely cares.”
Fresh off a flight from London, Barry was back in town ahead of a visit to Barretstown yesterday.
He said he also plans to join forces with his childhood pal Kellie Harrington to create a drama and boxing programme for inner city kids.
